1. The things we love most about Fuquay-Varina... "We love that it's convenient to everything we need but still out and away from all the hustle and crowds".

2. Some of the best things about our neighborhood... "It's a small neighborhood with friendly people and large yards".

3. Some of our favorite local restaurants and shops... "We really enjoy the locally owned places in Fuquay, especially the Aviator and Draft Line Breweries. Campbell's Diner is the absolute best place for a great breakfast. David Anthony's is great for a gift shop that has a little something for anybody and not all the 'cookie cutter' stuff you see in the big stores".

4. The best nearby conveniences are... "Whatever you need, Fuquay has it...5 grocery stores, Kohls, Walmart, Home Depot, and the new Target shopping center is only minutes away".

5. What we love most about our home... "It's a ranch home so we don't have to climb stairs unless we need to use the bonus room. We love the screened porch, large yard and the privacy".

Asking Price $525,000

This house is perfect for the buyer who is truly looking for a home.  This home boasts all of the features you'd expect in a luxury house, including a kitchen with Hardwoods, custom raised panel cabinets, under cabinet lighting, granite countertops, tile backsplash, center island & French doors leading to the main deck.  The master bedroom is truly a retreat with it's lighted trey ceiling, corner gas log fireplace & huge custom designed closets. What you can't see in the photos are the moments that make a life;  Enjoying coffee at the kitchen table while watching the birds bathe every morning, even at 40 degrees.  The sound and sight of the Lion's Head Cafe' (red umbrella).  The breathtakingly beautiful azaleas, along with pink and white dogwoods in the spring.  Sunlight splashing through the house, even on gray days.  The tall window in the living room is so warm and inviting in the summer and the snow is beautiful in the winter.  The front porch and its privacy.  The secluded seat in the woods-an island in the community. And then there's the practical stuff:  12 minutes to RDU airport, one-half mile from Leesville Schools, close proximity to Leesville Park. This is more than a house, this is a home with so much to offer the next family who is lucky enough to live here!

 5 Bedrooms | 4 Bathrooms | 0.32 Acres 3,420 Square Feet

Seller Says:

1. What do you love most about Raleigh?
Relative to Washington, DC, the weather is much more pleasant, the traffic (though noticeable) does not compare, and the people are very friendly and wonderful.  We love the ballet and the museum.

2.  What are the best things about your neighborhood?
My church, Tabernacle Baptist, is a quarter mile away and Rev. Dane Hadley, my Spirit filled pastor is great. Oaks at Westlake neighborhood includes 37 single homes each with from 0 to 4 children; there are double cul-de-sac streets that are the play grounds for the children  – Russling Leaf Lane and Oakthorne Way.  Generally, the only vehicles on the two streets are homeowners.  School buses come on to Russling Leaf Lane to pickup and drop off children.  The three Leesville schools are less than a mile away -- Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. In addition, there is the   57.6 acre Leesville Park which, when complete, will be entered from Russling Leaf  Lane. Currently available are one greenway trail, children’s play ground, and the Library.  The community center and more trails are yet to come.

3.  What are a few of your favorite restaurants or shops? There are several restaurants we frequent in Briar Creek;  our favorite is, Bella Monica, on Edwards Mill Road.

4.  What are some of the best nearby conveniences?  There are three major shopping centers within 15 minutes – Briar Creek, South Point, and Triangle Town Center.  In addition, within a one mile radius from the house, we can go to several drug stores, Harris Teeter grocery stores, Lowes Building Supplies, Target Shopping, hair salons, Raleigh Grande Theatre, and Harmony health foods.

5.  What are your favorite things about your home?  The things that sold us on the house are the kitchen and the master bedroom/bath/closet.  The closet is 18’ x 12’ spectacularly designed by “Closets by Design.”   The Jack and Jill bedrooms were efficient as business offices for us.  As soon as we moved in, we used Davis Landscaping to create privacy without a wooden fence.  The mature landscaping is now beautiful.  We enjoyed our beautiful patio – grilling and eating our meals, watching the birds at the feeders and bird baths, and visiting with the neighborhood children as they played hide and seek in our bushes.  We loved the large wooded area with pine, oak, maple, redbud, dogwood trees and  large white, pink, and red azalea bushes.  We hosted several neighborhood parties at the house.  It was fantastic for both large and small gatherings.  Of course, the huge attic is special because it holds tons and tons of “stuff.”

5.  What are your favorite things about your home?  "The backyard is like an extension of our living area.  It's private and protected, so it feels like a little oasis.  There's plenty of space for the kids to practice soccer, and play hide/seek, tend their own sections of the garden, search for worms (for fishing), etc.  The front porch is where we have popsicles on the swinging bench on hot afternoons.  In the winter, we pile up the third floor family room for movies and popcorn.  We love this house-and also, our neighbors are the best."

"The multiple parks, arts and entertainment options, and good restaurants.  Also, Cary is safe enough to walk through at any time of day and consistently ranks among the safest places to live in the US".

2. What are the best things about your neighborhood?
"Maynard Oaks is exactly what neighborhoods used to be.  Kids can ride their bikes or go for walks without worrying for safety.  Neighbors look out for each other and help each other in a pinch.  Parents can frequently be seen chatting at the bus stop long after the buses have left.  There are often neighborhood activities in the Fall in Spring and even a neighborhood garage sale".

3. What are a few of your restaurants or shops?
"We really enjoy eating at Torero's Mexican Restaurant and can (and do) walk to Primo Pizza for a slice. Still walkable, but a  bit further is Sushi-Thai which has phenomenal sushi"!

4. What are some of the best nearby conveniences?
"You can walk to Harris Teeter (the new one opens this Fall), Wells Fargo Bank, Starbucks, and Cary Towne Center Mall.  Some weekends, we don't even use our cars.  Besides having everything in walking distance, the location of the neighborhood allows for easy access to I-40, I-440, and Hwy 1/64.  We can get to most locations within 20 minutes, including the airport, the Raleigh Farmers Market, and Downtown Raleigh (where the free museums are)".

5. What are your favorite things about your home?  The kitchen is my favorite room in the house.  Even if I'm not cooking, I can watch the kids playing in the back yard or the gazebo while I read or work.  All of our friends come in the side door through the kitchen, because they know that's where we'll be.  I also really enjoy our sun room, because it is the perfect spot to escape.  I can close both doors and just relax.  The gazebo is particularly convenient as well as pretty.  We can enjoy the outdoors, even on a rainy day!  It's great for getting fresh air first thing in the morning.
