Seller Says:
1. What do you love most about Cary? "We love Cary for its small town feel, community parks, seasonal festivals, amazing schools and convenience to everything! Our kids are in a wonderful daycare and a great elementary school just 5 minutes away. This means that their friends are local so we run into them a lot – at parks, at soccer/football/basketball, at the pool in the summer, at the pizza place on the corner."
2. What are the best things about your neighborhood? "The fishing in the pond is a favorite, every evening in the summer! The Halloween costume parade for the kids starts at the top of the hill, and ends with a piñata at the top of Peachtree. Trick-or-Treating starts early and has a steady stream of happy kids!"
3. What are a few of your favorite restaurants or shops? "The new Park West complex has become a staple-and they have wonderful music concerts and seasonal festivals throughout the year. The kids love the face painters and firefighters, which seem to be at every event. Bravo's for Mexican. Travinia for martinis. Dean's for brunch (prepare to not eat again that day). Spirits of Cary for casual date nights."
4. What are some of the best nearby conveniences? "Everything you can imagine is within 5 minutes-Target, Lowe's, Starbuck's, even high-end shopping. The dry cleaners at the Food Lion is the absolute best. Grocery stores-take your pick-Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, Fresh Market. The Cary Community Library has the best, kid-friendly librarians! Our favorite parks are Bond Park, North Cary Park, Lake Crabtree for sailing, Dads Park-all just minutes away."
5. What are your favorite things about your home? "The backyard is like an extension of our living area. It's private and protected, so it feels like a little oasis. There's plenty of space for the kids to practice soccer, and play hide/seek, tend their own sections of the garden, search for worms (for fishing), etc. The front porch is where we have popsicles on the swinging bench on hot afternoons. In the winter, we pile up the third floor family room for movies and popcorn. We love this house-and also, our neighbors are the best."
