Asking Price: $219,900

This corner lot, traditional 2 story home sits on a cul-de-sac and is walking distance to Tyler Run Park, and Downtown Wake Forest. The interior of the home has been completely repainted, new carpet throughout and new vinyl flooring in kitchen and bathrooms. Some new light fixtures and other new features make this home move-in ready. 4 bedrooms, all upstairs, and friendly layout throughout the home maximizes the square footage. This home is perfect for those who are environmentally conscious as it features a 3 kilowatt solar panel system on the roof of the home, and foil insulation to help reduce cooling costs during the summer months. Most appliances, AC unit and water heater have been updated within the past 5 years. Be close to shops, stores, restaurants and more all while being in a sidewalk-lined neighborhood.

What do you love most about Wake Forest?

Smaller town atmosphere with community center, parks & rec programs for every member of the family (my son really enjoyed baseball and basketball in the town league), friendly police officers, nearby downtown area with bars & restaurants.  Excellent fireworks on July 3rd (so as to not compete with Raleigh's on the 4th) and an awesome Christmas Parade each December (which I thought was better than Raleigh's Christmas Parade).

What are the best things about your neighborhood?

Hearing the church bells chiming each hour of the day, hearing the musical melody of the ice cream trucks who deliver happiness to the many children in the neighborhood, and the vibrant Halloweens of the neighborhood (we've never had less than 300 children at trick or treat and some of the neighbors go all-out with decorations).  We also sent our child to the Catholic School two blocks away, which we often walked to due to proximity.  My running route (5 km in length) took me through the historic district of Wake Forest (with beautiful antebellum-style houses) and the old Wake Forest College campus (currently a seminary) where greats such as Arnold Palmer learned to play golf.  When running on the sidewalks during quiet summer evenings, I could almost hear the whispers of history over the sound of the chirping crickets.

What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants or shops?

Bella Italia Pizza (on Main Street), Il Bacio, Over the Falls Deli, Milton's Pizza, Brigg's Breakfast Restaurant.  All were within a 10-minute drive.

What are some of the best nearby conveniences?

The above restaurants plus Lowe's, Home Depot, and ABC Store were all within 10-minute drive. Voting was also a pleasure at the Wake Forest Community Center -- I never once waited in line in 15 years of voting there!

What are your favorite things about your home?

Walk-in closet, his & her closets in master, nice view from master bathroom overlooking the valley below, the garage with high walls, gas logs to snuggle in front of during the winter, lots of ceiling fans for summer. Underground power lines so trees don't get chopped in half by the power company. Fire hydrant in yard gave comfort and made home owners insurance cheaper. We turned the house "green" with solar panels (3 kW) and tin foil in the attack to keep out heat (that stuff worked better than I even expected).

What do you love most about in this area of Wake Forest?

Wake Forest is where we live and where we do everything. This is where our kids go to school, where we go to church. We like the small town feel of Wake Forest. It has it’s own personality. Convenient to the airport, RTP, etc . Many shopping centers are only about 10 minutes away. You get the feeling of being “out” a little bit but still the close proximity to everything!

What are the best things about your neighborhood?

We’ve been very happy here. One of the things we’ve loved is, due to it being out a little further, you get more property, over an acre. It’s quiet, the mature landscape. It’s just beautiful. Great neighbors.

What are a few of your favorite LOCAL restaurants or shops?

Shorty’s in downtown Wake Forest, Shuckers, Dairy Depot, The Factory…the list goes on and on!

What are your favorite things about your home?

A LOT of things! Large lot that is over an acre on a cul-de-sac. Street is pretty much already developed, so when you’re at the cul-de-sac, you know how it’s going to look and feel like. Mature landscape, lot of trees and natural areas which gives the feeling of privacy. The theater room!! Play set in the back yard. The home a Gold Winner of the Parade of Homes. Large back porch AND front porch. The long flat driveway. MANY custom accents.
